Resource Overview: This toolkit was developed to enhance understanding for transit agencies on the topic of human trafficking for American Indian/Alaskan Native (AIAN) populations. The information is framed to explore how trafficking impacts AIAN populations, the role transportation has in trafficking, how transit agencies can prevent trafficking, how drivers can intervene if trafficking is identified and two standalone resources that agencies can share. This website and the resources it houses were developed through a grant from the Federal Transit Administration. The grant project team includes the Texas Transportation Institute, the Southwest Transit Association and the Community Transportation Association of America. The team was funded to develop a program of Interactive Learning Resources and Guidance for Improving Crime Prevention and Safety for the Public and Transit Employees in response to the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) Crime Prevention and Public Safety grant program (FTA-2019-007-TSO).
